Marijuana biotech company MediPen is opening a cannabis research facility this summer, the first of it’s kind. As Independent reported, it will allow for other scientists and research firms to further our knowledge on the cannabis plant. A far cry from the strict laws that have plagued our governments scientists.

The facility will be an estimated 1800 sq. feet, with state of the art technology available for cannabis research.

MediPen has already been working closely with the government to assist patients in their pursuit of a better, safer, and natural alternative to prescription medication. The company is the producer of a government sanctioned CBD vapourizer, a non-psychoactive cannabinoid that has numerous health benefits.

They hope to get a deeper look into the chemical make up off cannabis, and what health benefits can be derived from it’s compounds. By obtaining a license from the Home Office, it will be able to import and work with controlled compounds in marijuana.

MediPen Taking the Lead in CBD Accessibility

The National Health Services tested the MediPen vapourizer for it’s safety and health benefits. A sign times are changing and cannabis is being taken seriously as a medicine that does, can, and will help many people.

“As it stands there is a significant amount of scientific data available detailing the powerful effects of cannabinoids within cell culture systems and in vivo,”  The Independent reported. “However, we plan to be amongst the first in the world to begin clinical trials on humans.”

If a major power like England steps up to the plate and reaffirms the viability of medicating a number of illnesses and ailments with CBD and other cannabinoids, we could be looking at a medical revolution. We look forward to seeing what comes out of this research and how much far we can take medical marijuana.
